An Indefinite Sabbatical

Curvy Road

I’ve decided to take a break from my posting schedule here at Spannerhead. During our family’s recent move to Tennessee, I’ve decided to diversify my evening activities somewhat, to spend more time on things I’ve put off for ages and to focus on acclimating to my new job and the new area, as well as working on various car projects (repairs mostly) in my new garage.

I hope to resume my regular posting schedule at some point in the future, though I’m not sure when that will be. In the meantime, avail yourselves of the archives, and thanks for your continued interest.

Thanks for leaving up the archives and I do hope you decide to return at some point. I miss my regular Matt-inspired insights, but having projects and a growing family myself, my evening & free time is at a premium…so I can appreciate the need to trim excess activities. Maybe you could come back on a weekly basis sometime in the future?

Just purchased a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT for the fam. This thing drives great and has 286 hp! Seriously…it handles better than most older sports sedans (at least up to 7/10ths) and has more power than a mid 1990′s muscle car! Steering is direct, brakes are linear, power is more than adequate. My only complaint is the drive by wire system that tends to surge a bit from initial take off, but that’s not too difficult to get used to. Anyway…just thought I would give a brief update. Actually, is there any way to get a small forum going where your readers could share their infrequent news or random comments? That would be kind of cool…

On a different note…is that pic from Deal’s Gap? That’s what it looks like to me.

    All the best!

Hey John. Thanks for the comment and I hope you guys had a nice Christmas.

I can’t make any promises re:the blog. I want to try to get it started again, but there’s that balance issue, you know? Gotta keep everything in its place… We’ll see.

Nice about the Grand Caravan! Funny about our Mazda MPV: After the recent truck purchase, driving it feels like a sports car. Rack-and-pinion steering, good body control, adequate power… It’s all relative I suppose. :)

About a forum: I’ve considered it; I just want to make sure it will be active. There’s nothing worse than a ghost town forum… I’ll look into it.

And no, that’s just a random picture culled from Google Image Search.

      Happy new year!
